Owl travel backpack

25/9/2017 Monday
We are planning a trip to Japan, and it will be their autumn soon. I grow a little crazy over the koyo leaves . They are really lovely.
As Autumn arrives, the day are shorter with longer nights, hence decrease amount of sunlight.  Thus, less chlorophyll in the leaves. The carotenoid which are already in the leaves can then be seen, which are yellow, orange or brown and some red. These colour made Autumn very picturesque and lively.

I will be carrying this backpack for my trip, and I try to blend my theme.
I did a bit of research with google, of course and hope to create something interesting.

I use the leftover material I sew my blouse. I think the orange is very 'Autumn' for my theme.

I had planne to sew it onto the bag, but it was really too hard. after having some red fingers, I decided to use cloth glue instead

with the glue , I can only do a small, part each time and contonue when it dries.

Owl Travel pillow

I do have a few travel pillows, infact I have two very adorable owl travel pillows. One allows me to connect to phone to listen to music, but it is heavy to carry. The other one is soft but i feel that it is too small. A pillow is actually the best, then it too big.

Well, all these are excuses . I am keen to sew one for myself. I did a simple one and tried for my trip to Genting. Love it, now I am just transforming it to my favourite owl.

  1. I use a normal pillow, removed it's filling. I keep the zip intact.
  2. Pin and sew the width I felt most comfortable. Cut out the extra.
  3. with that extra, fold one corner, drew the "Ears" , sew, fill it. attached to the main part
  4. sew the three sides, fill it, test the right puffness . zip up. that's it.

PILLOW CASE COVER

  1. I am not good in sewing, hence I put the pillow over the cloth to mark the size for the case.
  2. The material I use really 'flairs" alot. Fornutanely, I have a little helper to vacuum them .
  3. Using the zig-zag stitch to sew all edges

this is the owl face I would love to sew.
hopefully my end product is similiar, if not better

This is what I did in a morning. I used some cloth glue to glue the edges, hopefully after wash it will stay.

My Owl Tank

We were doing our evening walk when we discovered someone had abandoned the fish tank. It looked alright, no crack or so. The first instinct that struck me was to use it for my owls.
