A little baking - Nian Kou

My Lunar new year cake, Nian Kou
Ingredients :
Gula Melaka  500g
thick coconit milk 500g
Glutinous rice flour 500g
Babana leaves , wash n boil over hot water, a few minutes
pandan leaves, wash, squash and tie them into a bundle

Step 1: -Boil coconut milk with the pandan leaves and the gula melaka
medium heat, stir occassionally til all the gula melaka melts.
-Remove the pandan leaves, strain n leaves to cool


Step 2 Sieve the flour and stir into the cooled mixture from step 1


step 3 : Spray a thin layer of olive oil on the container, lay the cleaned banana leaves, then pour the mixture into the container. Steam 2 hrs at least.

this is about 3cm high - 2 hrs steaming is good

almost 5-6cm high, 2 hrs not enough, center portion was not cooked.

just eat it original way for the first few days, or steam it again
