WAWA Trip - part 3
5th / 6th September Kojonup- Mt Barker - Stirling Range
We didnt't really sleep well, but we had a good breakfast before we set off to Mount Barker. At this time, we are more comfortable using the GPS too.(it's our first time using it)
We arrived Mount Barker before the visitor center is open (9.00am) , hence we roamed around and ended up at IGA with additional lamb chops for our dinner.
wow, I think we'll going to put on more weights! but it's holiday!!!
With some advice from the VI, we decided to explore this area where it just had the bush fire earlier in february. There was really no trails, but stinky smells here and there. Nevertheless we discovered quite a number of wildflowers. It was an exciting finding for us. There were two locals (I think) to. We were a little distance apart, I didnt have a chance to say hello. They have a dog with them, well behaved.
(
I try to name them as much as possibble and will come back to update if possible, but some name are hard to find)

This area is along Martin street. We parked our car along the road near to some houses and did most of the walking. Then we drove around the corner, park and explored again. We even had our break there along the road, and enjoy more flowers. It was quite a hot day I only realised when I sit down to rest and eat. I felt a little sun burnt .
We could still see the burnt trunk everywhere.
A beautiful morning. :))
Later, we head straight to Stirling Range Retreat where we will spent 2 nights. We were hopeful to find more flowers along the way, but it was minimum. or may be they were too tiny to see from a moving car. Firstly, the flowers are really hard to see from the car as it is moving and they are so tiny. Secondly the sun was shining really strong.
Stirling Range Retreat looks cleaner and more comfortable. we have a big bed and 2 double-deck.. The bench and table is neat, and the cooking utensils are clean too. we have a microwave and a fridge too. overall, very comfortable.
There was a group of youngster playing in the main kitchen which is big. their occasional laughters will break its quietness ans creates a happier environment too. They have a birthday boy where they celebrated in the evening.

Stirling Range Retreat is much more comfortable and clean. Within the retreat itself, there are trails walk which I had enjoyed thoroughly. Birds watching here is easily done, and we caught beautiful sunset here too.
The next day, we juist drove around and stopped anywhere we felt good and did some trail here and there, it's pretty challenging and fun. Just be very careful, as these plants and leaves are really poky and sharp. it's is more comfortable when I wear a jean compared to a normal pants.
