In a HDB housing, toilets drip is a very common problem. After many years, the water leakage from the floor above will leaks to the floor below. Thus, we will need to redo the flooring .
It may sounds simple, but very often it is not.
We had this problem, hence need to redo water treatment for our toilet. Although 2 units spilt the cost after some subsidery from HDB., a lot of hidden cost is involved and lots of headaches!!
1. The toilet bowl need to be replaced once it is removed. First, the contractor didn't have the right color for my toilet which was black. If I buy a toilet bowl myself, I am charged additional $80 for the replacement which I don't understand? I am already paying a new piece and they save one, yet I still need to pay extra. Anyway, I have little choice but replaced it with a white one, a old design which is apparently smaller than my old one. Thus, creating an ugly area where the old tank was.
This is why I am doing something to cover it.
2. I had a cover piece for my sink, they charged me another $80 to put it back! This is crazy!( Later, they replaced it for me because of lot of unnecessary problems occurred.)
3. After hacking, the water pipes was dripping , and the worker asked us " what to do heh?"
How am I supposed toknow? Aren't they the expertise?
Later that night, 5 big guys came to repair it! One do, two look, the rest walk in and out. ???
4. We discussed where the wall should be hack, since it is difficult to reach a comfortable height I had wanted. I was more willing to compromise where the contractor suggested - at the joining line between the tiles. But the job was terribly done. My tiles end up a lot of broken and look horrible. After many call and no avail, I had to write in before someone really come to rescue. The HDB officer was really responsible and come the next day he received my letter. Finally after much discussion, the broken parts was replaced with smaller tiles. A lot of time, stress was involved.
5. Even for the floor tiles, we wanted to buy new pieces instead of those supply by the contractors, we will charged extra for it too? I just cannot understand?
6. On day one, the workers try to have their packed lunch in my room. I had to offer them to eat in the dining hall, then they go to void deck to eat and rest. Very funny.
Job was done, slobbishly I felt. I never use the toilet, it really feels uglish with broken tiles and very rough flooring. After the office came and problems solved, I still need to cover here and there.
Thanks for a good officer from HDB. But he has retired.
It's a pity I deleted the photos, else I'll be able share.
Anyway, let's get back to my little project again. I want to cover some ugly sight.

loving it.!
I like the acrylic paint too. From Diaso
some glitters I bought, will keep for other projects
bought some of this from elsewhere, not very comfortable with it. sometimes it may be too dry and crack. some colors are really nice though
be careful when buying. there are matt and glossy ones.
this is really out for me. XXX |
Now I think I will redo the first owl, so that the colours matches well.
The first one feels a bit too shiny.
