白石湖吊桥
direction : Neihu station, exit 1
note : prepare insect repellent is a must
We couldn't locate the bus-stop at Bihu Elementary School. Hence, with some guidance we walk to another location. It's a few minutes walk here.
I redo the map so you can walk here directly.
bus S2, S2qu
On our way down, the driver did announced Neihu station instead of going to Bihu School. much nearer.
if you not sure, ask about the 7-eleven. (left, green arrow)
we are only one stop away to our destination
there are many locals that walked up the slope. They are well prepared with a walking stick. There may be other walking trails too.
somehow, the route map showed Bihu Elementary School. we must have missed it somehow.
once you cross the bridge, many options to move around. There are quite a few food corners, drinks stall, vegetation farm, strawberry farm etc.,
we stop by here, it says Singapore fishballs. We tried the fishballs and something, I really forgot. He told us he supply to Singapore too.
on our way....... there was some running/marathon activity. Got to 'jia yu' for them too. They must have started pretty early. We noticed some had completed during the start at the bridge.
Many locals were here too, apparently first time for many. We saw a group of little kids having their excursion here. They were very excited and asked many questions. They are pretty well behaved. Somehow I ended up walking in between their queue. While, I stopped to take photos, the queue stopped with me!!! hahaha, Both the kids and the adults were too busy to notice I am not one of them. But I enjoyed their noise, especially their " why?" "How?" "why?" very adorable kids. Some of the little face is red but still smiling. Though one or two did complained, she is tired. :))
we walked into a strawberry farm (we don't know how, we were just following the people infront) but you need to book ahead to pluck the strawberries (pay by weight). this time, not too many.
When we exit, we asked if we could pluck the starwberries and pay, the counter said it was already reserved for others, so we left.
little pretty flowers, (size of a finger)
Da Gou Stream
direction : Dahu mrt station, exit 1
note: come in shorts n slipper, can enjoy the cool, cool water
insect repellent is a must
I show them these pictures (above) as I asked along the way. Generally, just walk till end of the street, you'll see rows of pretty owls! It's an extra bonus to me!!!
up the stairs.....and enjoy!prepare to go into the water, it's really cooling.....I love it!
nature is lovely |
We diverted to another walking trail. We didn't check our times since both of us want to enjoy it fully. On the way, we met some locals doing their walks too. Probably it is a daily exercise they do. There is a town at the end of the trail. We ended up at Neihu station. :))
we pass by this place, lots of butterflies, but lots of mosquitoes too.
I was too engrossed, Choo reminded me to move on. hahaha, then realised the love bites from the mosquitoes!!!! even with my repellent!! time to apply more!!! Choo didn't need the repellent much, hmmmmm......she has super insect repellent power!!!?
nature is beauty
mickey is here!
As we exit, there is a 7-eleven. There are some food stalls but all closed. It's almost 3pm! We get some drinks and my favourite M&Ms, it's mint flavour! There is a beautiful temple on the way to mrt station. Taipei has many temples everywhere and they are all very nice and beautifully decorated, very colourful and well maintain.
Dahu Park
Choo is keen to go to the Dahu Park after I showed her some pictures earlier. This morning, we saw a large crowd there too. so back to Dahu Park ( only one station away) The park is just beside the station.
When we arrived, there are still many people. The sky was a little overcast, some were taking there tent ( big shelter) near to the station. It must be a big event. There are many with smaller tents. very busy park.
It did drizzles but the weather didn't spoil the mood, everyone seem prepare with umbrellas and raincoats, so are we. We took a lot of photos here.
Roahe Night market
direction : Songshan station, exit 1
Since we missed the Raohe night market on our first night, we decided to go this evening.
We took the exit 2 as there is the escalator going up. Right at the door step is another night market! We walked in to look for food and eventually it links to Raohe night market!!
I enjoyed the above.
on the other end of the market, there are many display of owls too! and more shopping and food, but we were too tired to move further. Choo has bought 20 boxes of cookies aready! I suggested taxi back, but Choo prefer mrt. So we mrt back. it's only a few station away, just that we need to change twice, We were at green line, change to brown line at Nanjing Fuxing and change to blue line at Zhongxiao fuxing. Both these stations were big and a lot of walking inside. I am not sure if we change at Ximen station, will it be easier though it's further.
note: taxi here is metered (just double checked), so be comfortable.
Another fruitful day for us!!! well done.
