stage design

The stage and the Main Entrance

My stage design has two large sunflowers. It will be the focal point for photo taking too. Hence I must ensure they look lovely. As usual, I google and check here and there......

got these from Diaso. ( I use some to support my plant)
dismantle them, I need the circles only.....

 

Bought 2 sets of yellow organza 5 m each. I did a rough estimation and start cutting them into rectrangle. i just fold half, and half and half........ a diagonally to the riing.

 












 try to tie the centre with ribbbons that I had bought from Taipei, but it doesn't give the effect I wanted.


Made a trip to Chinatown, but cannot find anything I like. Hence, decided to use organza ..the result was. .  .   beautiful!

Last night before falling asleep, something flow into my mind as to how to tie the balloons for the stage design. 
i could tie many set of string to a main body and the are flexible to move for adjustment.

today, I shall give it s test though the white balloons hasn't arrived yet.

the restaurant may not allow us for early set-up if there is a booking the night before our booking. Hence, I have to do them in a few sets of design for easy transport and a quick set-up.


- how to hide the restauranat original design?

(we are not allow to remove the original design)
      -cover with a piece of organza?
      -hide with balloons?

- how to ensure the flowers is in right position?

     - use more balloons to support😍
- how to hide the strings?

    - stick the balloons together  😘
- how to ensure the ribbon bows stay?

    - properly stick it too😜




we shall see how many days we can keep the balloons so that I could prepare them ahead. I suspect there may be a lot of things to do as the date get closer.  it took about a week while some balloons started to  get smaller.

Finally comes the day to do the set up . the restaurant allowed us to do a day ahead since there is no other function  on that day.


We blowed and tied the balloons in about 12 sets to put them together. ribbons and tulles were added to softened the effect. Sunflowers is a must, of course.

Now, it's time to transport the balloons to the restaurant. It's my first time doing such stage design and I must do a good job. Though I am confident , I want to ensure nothing would go wrong.

I kept extra balloons to blow on the spot to fill any gaps expected. Infact, I had bought additional 200 to be sure we have more than enough. Seriously, we used up all the balloons.

(they cannot be removed, it's restaurant original design)


then the two bigger sunflowers were tied up first.

The twelve set of balloons were marked with numbers for their position. I made a mistake using marker, they just dissappear after much handling. As they are my babies I could roughly guide them to tie to the right position. At this point, we all enjoyed the transformation. After almost every set is up, someone will give a little nod, a little yes, a little smile. I may be busy but I noticed them, the restaurant manager came to see and praised our work too. They were very kind and serve us drinks too.

Shun Jie was quick to notice the exposing stand, he suggested to cover it . I have brought extra cloth . Just niice.
