12-5-17, Friday
We were trying to plan some short trip with the Malaysia train's destination. Somehow, we came across Muar and realised that it may be quite interesting to visit this little town. In fact, it is the second largest town and district of the state of Johor, Malaysia. Muar is also known as Bandar Maharani meaning Empress town. Such a beautiful name.
Nevertheless, it is not reachable by train. Hence we decided to drive instead. We could rent a car in Johore. My son was keen to join us.

We set off very early to Johore to collect our car from Europcar.
Our first destination was to visit Jalan Dhoby. I read about a street art here, but failed to find it. There were lots of food option around this area . After driving 2 faithful rounds we couldn't get a parking lot hence decided to park any available space and eat what we see that we feel is good.
We drove to Culture street for some food. There are lots of food here but parking may not be as easy. May be because it's a Friday.
look sixties or 70s style, but it's clean and unique, an interesting place . .
Muar is about 180km away and would probably take slightly less than 2.5 hrs to arrive our hotel. It's fun when we drive, we stopped when we see something that interest us.

TO AIR HITAM
Finally, we checked into Elite hotel. We had a family room , a queen and a single bed. Simple and basic. There is an Old Town cafe just below it. Very convenient. Quite a popular place too.
After a brief freshening, we set off to the famous Muar Glutton street which can be easily detected from it's row of yellow painting houses. This place is popular with locals and tourist alike, stretching from Jalan Haji Abu to the junction of Jalan Mariam which can be easily detected from it's yellow painting houses.
